The Sea Cadet Awards Program exists to recognize meritorious performance by cadets, to provide incentive for greater effort, to contribute to an effective military environment, and to enhance morale.
In addition to being nominated for several different major individual awards, qualifying cadets are eligible for a variety of different ribbons as well as various appurtenances which recognize completion of specific training activities or other notable accomplishments during a cadet’s service.
The requirements for the various Sea Cadet awards, ribbons and appurtenances are set forth in the Sea Cadet Awards Manual and all Mason Division cadets are encouraged to become familiar with them and to strive to obtain as many awards as possible.
